Yes, I tend to call it 'the American way' of doing things.

so, does this mean I don't need to pull a Building Permit for my addition?

And these are the people who would change documents after they'd shown them to the court -- remember the supposed congressional discussion that was submitted to the Supreme Court in connection with Hamdi that had, as it turned out, never taken place?

There's a reason why court filings are public records and kept at the courthouse and not in the offices of the interested parties. I wish we could take for granted that whatever is offered as argument and/or evidence in thse cases would remain in its original form no matter what, but with these people, I don't trust a single thing they do.
