In the strongest language it has ever used, a United Nations panel says global warming is "very likely" caused by human activities and has become a runaway train that cannot be stopped.

my cousin showed this in his Ph.d thesis. CO2 makes plants grow faster and better creating more dead foliage which created more CO2, and there the vicious circle starts.

This certainly supports my side of the argument with my wife, that our emphasis has to be on coping with the effects of global warming, not just on trying to slow it. Global warming will take place no matter what we do now, but we do still have time to figure out what the effects will be and how best to counter them. For starters I think our government should be funding a super, super computer capable of accurately modeling the whole earth weather system, so we can have a chance to predict what global warming means. Without that I don't see what else we can do.
