Sally Field was cut off during her anti-war acceptance speech at the Emmy's which was on Fox. From Think Progress....
Field then continued, “If mothers ruled the world, there would be no –” But the Fox Emmycast cut off her sound and pointed the camera away from the stage, silencing the rest of her sentence: “god-damned wars in the first place.”
Here is video....
UPDATE: Via Gold Derby by Tom O'Neil is Fields' reaction to being censored....
"Oh, well. I've been there before!" Sally Field just said back in the press room when asked what she thought of being censored on the Emmycast.
"Good. I don't care. I have no comment other than, 'Oh, well.' I said what I wanted to say. I wanted to pay homage to the mothers of the world. And I very very seriously think that if mothers ruled the world we wouldn't be sending our children off to be slaughtered.
" When she was pressed for further comment, she added, "Too bad. That's a shame. And I think I probably shouldn't have said the 'god' in front of the 'damn.'
"If they bleep it, oh, well. I'll just say it somewhere else."
And also from O'Neil is a short post informing that Fields' words are not profane according to FCC

Can I just say, fuck the Emmys in general? I'm sorry, Battlestar Galactica takes killer robots and makes them the ALMOST-GOOD GUYS in a war against a suicide-bombing insurgency that then goes on a murderous rampage against collaborators, while turning an entire established universe on its head in a way not often seen outside of fuckin' fanfic, and they fucking lose to the Sopranos? For WRITING? I mean, I'm sorry, I know a lot of people love the Sopranos, and I'm certainly not gonna call it Teh Suck on every level, but really? For WRITING?
My head hurts. That they cut off Robert Duvall and Sally Field speaking was just appalling. I mean, it's fucking Sally Field. Let her have a moment, out of pure respect, already.
(The only good moment came when Ryan Seacrest called her a "legend" and she looked at him like she'd like to cut him. That part was awesome.)
I can't believe I watched that crapfest. It was so bad it made me retroactively hate last year's Oscars. The suck went down that deep.

What the hell was that?

A. it really was just awful. I'm not sure what I hated more Seacrest or theater in the round. Of course they did the round because of Seacrest so I guess Seacrest.
The worst Emmys evah

Yeah, just saw the Emmy's, even though Sally did sound like a rambling idiot, it was fucking bullshit the they cut her off like that. I liked Helen Hirren's comments the best. I thought there would be more of a backlash about that.

To be honest, they cut off almost everyone's remarks.
They cut David Chase at the very end of the show, and he wasn't saying anything political at all. Nobody got any extended time on the mic for anything. Even with all of that, the show went on for more than three hours.
I think that, rather than this being a case of anti-war speech being kept out of the public sphere, it's actually a case of keeping all acceptance speeches brief.
At this point, I should note that I didn't watch the entire broadcast--just bits and pieces. I mean, the Patriots were on, ferchrissakes. What do you want out of me? But of the clicking-through parts that I saw, lots of people got played off the stage.
Of course, the smart thing to do would be to hand out fewer awards during prime time, but since when has television's self-congratulatory autofellatio been smart?

Oh, and Sally has some nice traps.
Just sayin'.

Jude... they were playing people off but not switching away like they did in above video except they did the same to Ray Ramono and Katherine Heigl. The latter apparently said shit and not sure what Ramono said but apparently a four letter word according to Tom Shales at WaPo. He went on to say Fields' remarks may have been censored for political reasons and that ..."If Fox censored Field for political reason, it would be an ugly first in the history of the Emmys."

I'm sure you paid more attention than I did, Scout. I was only a casual observer.
And welcome back!
