Holden Wins! Holden Wins! Holden Wins!*

OK, so it has a Bondsesque asterisk next to it.  I still whipped Athenae's ass!

You may recall that earlier this year Athenae and I entered into a friendly wager.  I declared that Chimpy's job approval rating in at least one major national poll would dip below 25% by October.  Athenae, on the other hand, sided with the forces of darkness and chimpitude and bet that Dear Leader would be rewarded with the enduring love of more than 25% of the populace.

Ha!

Today we learn that Chimpy's job approval rating plummeted to a record-breaking 24% in the new Reuters/Zogby poll.

Deepening unhappiness with President George W. Bush and the U.S. Congress soured the mood of Americans and sent Bush's approval rating to another record low this month, according to a Reuters/Zogby poll released on Wednesday.

[snip]

Bush's job approval rating fell to 24 percent from last month's record low for a Zogby poll of 29 percent.

[snip]

The poll found declining confidence in U.S. economic and foreign policy. About 18 percent gave positive marks to foreign policy, down from 24 percent, and 26 percent rated economic policy positively, down from 30 percent.

Yee-ha!!!!  Holden Rules!  [does the superior dance]

Oh yeah, well ... you still ... smell funny.

Hee hee. A fiddy to MoveOn it is.

A.

I have learned to my sorrow: never bet against Pony Boy. :-)

Wow, those are Nixonian numbers...

bout fucking time.

now, where does A find a sock monkey dress?

Hmmm. Technically speaking ... if the bet was "by October" (versus say by the 'end of October' or 'by November') doesn't that infer that a poll dip to less than 25% had to have occurred by October 1st?

CJ-

Kiss my asterisk.

;)

Victories hard to come by these days?

Don't gloat too much, Holden. Them womens will gitcha back eventually.

I won a bet against my roommate. I did the Happy, Happy, I Won - You Lost dance. She had to watch Spike TV for one evening. Now, all my socks are gone.

And the toilet seat has been glued down somehow.
