My mind was opened last night when reading Boogaloo Dude David Brooks, who carried the news (there you go) that "On the Road" was really a bummer. After straining that through my Joe Klein sieve I was evidently rendered ripe, primed and made ready for what happened next. I read the WaPo piece on how in his book, Clarence Thomas, cites To Kill a Mockingbird to cast his ordeal with that of Tom Robinson. This news prompted me to re-watch the To Kill a Mockingbird DVD from a new perspective and my mind was blown. Just look!
The besieged Clarence Thomas...
is of course Tom Robinson
Obviously Arlen Specter is....
crack shot Atticus...
I'll never question the magic bullet theory again.
Scout thought to have been a tomboy actually loved dresses...just not high necklines:
And I don't care how many Capote/Harper Lee movies are made...the character of Dill clearly was not based upon Truman Capote which is evident when one truly understands the primacy to the plot of Dill's suspicion, not fascination, with the Radley Place. And as we'll see, he was right to have been suspicious. But Dill an effeminate homosexual? Hardly....

Rather the suspicious Charles Baker "Dill" Harris is a coinkydink harbinger of the very viril vigilante Charles Bronson....

Worse yet... in what is surely a liberal plot, the evil assumptions about Dill's sexuality belie the fact that the dirty hippie Jem was indeed the homosexual, who would lay awake many a night, plotting his agenda to convert Dill...
{{shudder...enough of this perversion}} So why was it that Clarence Thomas "must have been thinking" of the trial of Tom Robinson when he recalls his confirmation hearing to become a member of the Highest Court of the Land?
Take a look...
Here, hearing Chairman Joe Biden is shocked to see Anita Hill is white...
The significance of which was not lost on the white jury...
Or the literally "uppity" blacks who claimed the best seats from which to look down upon everyone...
The rest is boring. They had a trial. It ended. Everyone in the balcony rose as Arlen Specter passed and Tom Robinson was killed and never got to be a Justice on the Supreme Court. But as you can see Clarence Thomas is absolutely corre......
Oh Look a child molester!
Yes how could THIS have been missed! In what is likely the greatest he-said/she-said travesty of all time....the eye witness "testimony" of a girl, in a vision obstructing ham no less...was believed over a Man! OK ok Bob Ewell was dead and he couldn't say anything. But the sheriff hushed it up and claimed...Bob Ewell fell on his knife. Puhleeze!
As far as I'm concerned, this was a low tech NAMBLA Knifing all so Boo could pet Jem.....
