Second, we find it a wee bit preposterous -- and we are being diplomatic here -- that a man who slavishly - no, robotically! -- defended President Bush's policies in Iraq and elsewhere is trying to "set the record straight" (and sell a few books) five years and more after the invasion, with U.S. troops still bravely fighting and dying to stabilize that country.

But the responses to McClellan from the Bush administration and media bigwigs, history-bending as they are, compel us to jump in. As we like to say around here, it's truth to power time, not just for the politicians but also for some folks in our own business.

McClellan needs to be forced to donate every last penny of his book to dead/injured soldiers funds....only then will he have started down the right path (not that he can ever wash the blood off his hands).

Although I am glad to see the truth come out, I have to wonder about McClellan's motives (well, duh!). Is he now a shill of the RNC trying to throw Bush under the bus so they can pretend they are different ?

Question I'd like to ask McClellan: Mr M, in your WH news briefings you were characterized as being rather evasive and not on top of the facts. Yet in your recent interviews you appear quite articulate. Why the difference ?
