Well, they've started pulling out the big guns. US Rep. Lynn Westmoreland (R-Klan) went and called Barack and Michelle Obama "uppity."
Westmoreland was discussing vice presidential nominee Sarah Palin's speech with reporters outside the House chamber and was asked to compare her with Michelle Obama.
"Just from what little I’ve seen of her and Mr. Obama, Sen. Obama, they're a member of an elitist-class individual that thinks that they're uppity," Westmoreland said.
Asked to clarify that he used the word “uppity,” Westmoreland said, “Uppity, yeah.”
That's right. In the words of a GOP Congressman, Obama is now officially an Uppity Negro.
They've already called him "Boy," and I think it's only a matter of time before somebody drops an n-bomb on a live mic. Hopefully, there will be a public backlash, a la George Allen's "macaca" bullshit from 2006.

Also, I'm finally back to blagging again, except aside from a post about how the Small Spaces Living movement needs to get off its ass and start talking to the Barrier-Free Design people, I'm mostly just ranting about how disability issues pertain to current politics...
