On the other hand, the Republicans still control all three branches of government, and will do so for the foreseeable future. So they must be doing something right.

I can't wait for Douthat to realize that by disclaiming all responsibility for the disaster the Republicans created, he's making it easier for the Dem's to not allow any credit to rain down upon his chosen party when the recovery takes hold.

Ah well, with Kristol, Douthat, Beck and the rest of the crazies leading the way, the final stop for the conservatives will likely be hell. We'll have to talk very nicely to Satan for him to keep them.
