Forget history and you're condemned to repeat it. Or, in other words, scrub Shrub and you might well end up with Son of a Shrub, which like most sequels is even shallower and worse than the original (not like this original was much to begin with).
Paul Fanlund pretty much nailed it earlier this week:
Behind the walls where he avoids all critics, Walker may see Ronald Reagan in the mirror. But many of us see a stubborn and incurious reflection of George W. Bush, with a touch less humanity.
Yes.
I keep waiting for someone to ask Republiclowns what should be a pretty obvious question -- how is the latest model any different from Bush Junior's crash and burn that ended with a very rude Game Over just over two years ago? Of course, the answer is, "it's not."

I assume you're talking about shrub's reign of terror as president. You should look at what he did as governor of Texas. He repeated it as president. I tried to tell them back then.

I've asked this many times before but what does the world look like to the Walker/Bushes of the world if they got everything they wanted, if it all went their way.
They must have some "vision", want some result. All I see is the breakdown of democracy and the ruination of the middle class. When that happens, at least what history tells us, the disenfranchised come up with horrible devices for getting rid of the powerful.

Per FightingBob this a.m. Koch Bros spending $607K on advertising to slam the WI 14 (state dems who fled the state to stop the budget bill--the physical filibuster).

They don't have a vision for the world. A character trait of all Republicans is self-interest. They don't see anything beyond their own welfare. They simply do not care about other people or the greater good. That's what makes them Republicans. So, their vision reaches no further than their bank account. That's it. They don't think like progressives and we should stop trying to ascribe the traits we have to them.

Bbbbbbbut that was last time. It is gonna be different this time. Forget that Poppy Bush (double entendre intended) quoted the definition of insanity as doing the same thing over and over again and expecting different results.
Another question I'd like to see asked. As Texas is such a bastion of the policies that are gonna make us better. And Texas is oil rich (seen as a source of income for the state). How come the CNN article yesterday (it may have been an offsite link) which provided the amount each state was financially in the hole, put Texas at near, if not at, the top ?
