This is an apology:
The Republican Party of Dane County sent out a press release on March 29th criticizing Judge Maryann Sumi for holding up the publication of Governor Scott Walker’s collective bargaining reform bill. Upon further reflection we’d like to apologize for not understanding her point of view.
Sure, Governor Walker’s bill is unquestionably constitutional, increases worker’s rights and helps local government balance budgets without having to fire public workers. The Wisconsin state legislature consulted with their non-partisan parliamentarian to make sure that the passage of the bill followed the rules of the Senate and Assembly. But this isn’t about the law, is it?
The Republican Party of Dane County recognizes that Judge Sumi is a leftist living in Dane County. Her friends are leftists living in Dane County. Her son is a left wing activist in Dane County. She goes to cocktail parties held by leftists in Dane County. She shops at organic gourmet food shops run by leftists living in Dane County. If she were to enforce the law of Wisconsin and do what was in the best interest of the people of Wisconsin, she’d be exiled from her lifestyle. She’d lose her friends!
The leadership of the Republican Party of Dane County have all made the choice to stand against the Dane County elite. We accept that Left feels righteous vandalizing our homes and keying our cars. It's only fair. We disagree based upon logic and principle. That is intolerable! We prioritize the Constitution and the well being of the people of Wisconsin over foie gras at cocktail parties. That’s the choice we made. We respect Judge Sumi’s decision to live her life with the rich diversity that liberals cherish.

It's like ... this is what they're like, under their skins. This is what the nationals are too polite to say, but this is what they think. This bottomless contempt, this is what they really feel. Rip the "civility" off the world, and this is what happens. So at least you know.

These people are displaying the emotional maturity of eight-year-olds.
It's stunning, really.

Why must you insult eight-year-olds?
Posted by: Doug | March 30, 2011 at 11:15
yes. shirley they are perpetually in the terrible twos.

Also, if human psychology is based on projection, and Sumi's friends will shun her at the Whole Foods if she goes against their liberal elitist wishes, does that mean the RPDC peeps are afraid of ostracization at the megachurch should they display signs of sanity?
And, too: MEGACHURCH. Worst Transformer ever?

Yes, I think the RPDCers are afraid of being ostracized, or at least subject to an internal version of the statement above...which is just the kind of thing you expect from clowns who turn down $810 million dollars in transit funds...then turn around and beg for $12 million dollars...in transit funds.
What's amazing is how easily they're able to mislead the public, although it helps tremendously when the media likewise falls hook, line, sinker, rod and reel for their nonsense.

Dudes and dudettes, my eight-year-old doesn't hold these views, I'll have you know. He's still stuck on trying to figure out why we tend to segregate ourselves despite integration laws...and Scout, you, sadly, just found a prime example. The curse words haven't been invented yet to describe these bastard asswipes for what they truly are.

Judge Sumi was appointed to the bench by Gov Tommy G Thompson, WI's answer to St Ronnie, a Republican if I didn't make that clear. Met her thirty years ago in a professional setting (and was also a remote neighbor) and what impressed me then as now is how tight-lipped she is---you would never know her political leanings, deliberately neutral person, as if she were always preparing to be a judge, a good one, at it turns out, impartial, waiting until she hears all sides before making a decision.
How does this asshat know what store Judge Sumi shops at, unless he shops there, too...
But the bottom line is they do operate on the emotional level of eight year olds on the playground. I am so fucking sick of that and how generally ignorant they are. I often call them stupid but it's not that they couldn't learn, they don't want to learn, they don't want to read or hear anything that challenges their reality.
What bums me out most days is realizing how their collective stoopid will bring it down around ALL our ears.

That RPDC post smacks of having been written by a college-aged true believer, one who's so deep into his/her own ass that the light will never go off in that tiny brain.
Keep poking that stick in this judge's eye...I would stay tuned.

Well, I guess these folks are all for "the rule of law,' but only if it's THEIR law. Otherwise, if it don't go their way, it's sour grapes and temper tantrums.
Geez, you'd think owning the U.S. Supreme Court would be enough....

Oh Sweet Jesus! I honestly thought this was a joke, so I hopped on over to the link and fuck if it isn't the real deal. I just...they can't....do you....I'm so flabbergasted at the exposure of their true selves that I can't even put it into words.
Those of us in Missisippi now say "Thank God for Wisconsin" and really mean it. They make Haley look like a scholar.

Ho. Lee. Shit. This is the real deal. The Wisconsin GOP have crossed the parody Rubicon.

Always stunned by human ferality, I call this particular rabid strain: Hatchet Under the Rocking Chair Syndrome.
Y'all know the type, one moment it's yer'granny rocking on the front porch, drinking lemonade with you, all bless-his-heart demure about "that poor nigra in the White House"... and the next moment what we have heah is a fail'ya ta'comoonicate!

Really? "...foie gras..."?
That's duck liver. Doesn't anyone in Wisconsin eat duck that they just went out and shot?
Eww, Wisconsin is so hoity toity, what, with their plaid shirts and reflective hunting vests.
SO stylish, they are.
And bowling balls are the equivalent of Rolex watches.

That's okay, this childish nonsense. Judge Sumi still got the hammer.
