Morning everyone!
Well, I've spotlighted the troubled (well, as troubled as you can be when you have you own live thread each and every day on FR) relationship bewteen the Beckerheads (that's what they call themselves) and Free Republic. I'ts been a Liz-and-Dick kinda relationship to be sure, but lately it's fraying more than a little.

Glenn Beck to End Daily Fox News Program
NY Times ^ | April 6, 2011 | Brian StelterPosted on Wednesday, April 06, 2011 12:12:10 PM by ConjunctionJunction
Glenn Beck will end his daily Fox News Channel program later this year.
His departure was jointly announced in a statement on Wednesday by Fox and Mr. Beck’s company, Mercury Radio Arts. The statement did not specify an end date for the show, called “Glenn Beck,” which has been telecast at 5 p.m. on Fox News since early 2009.

To: ConjunctionJunctionlose, lose situation for Beck & Fox. Myself, I limit the comp time to FR, ect; but will watch Beck on his late show before heading off to bed. Probably completely lose track of him now. Maybe Beck just needs a break before he loses his mind.
To: ConjunctionJunctionah the Soros media matters, Van Jones, socialists, communists, bigots towards mormons and the establishment GOP will be having parties over this if true.
FOX gets rid of the only person who has balls to say what is going on with facts and their own voices and video’s

‘Stop With the Damn Birth Certificate!’ Beck Delivers Strong Message to Birthers

“Stop with the damn birth certificate!” he said. “Stop!” According to him, it is a non-issue that only detracts from the real problem in America, which is progressives fundamentally transforming America.
“If you’re going to lose your country– we’re going to lose it on a birth certificate?” he asked. “You have a real opportunity to talk about American exceptionalism … instead you’re going to waste time on the birth certificate?”
“You’re out of your mind if you think that is a winning argument for the next election. You’re out of your mind. You have to go fight the battle on the principles of America!”

Glenn Beck: Sarah Palin damaged her brand
Politico ^ | April12, 2011 | Andy Barr
Posted on Tuesday, April 12, 2011 12:19:48 PM by FreeManDC
Glenn Beck doesn’t see Sarah Palin running for president and said she has done some damage to her political brand.
Beck, a constant Palin cheerleader, said flatly on his radio show Monday, “Sarah Palin, I don’t think, wants to run for president.”
The outgoing Fox News personality has hosted Palin on his show several times – once for a full hour – and she has frequently lavished praise on him.
Still, even with all that good will, Beck was frank in assessing what Palin has done to hurt her own political stock – even though he credited her with surviving tough media coverage.
“There are some things about Sarah Palin,” he said, going on to suggest Palin made a mistake by selling her personal story in her first book after leaving the governor’s office, rather than demonstrating some policy credentials.
“She should have come out with that first book, and it should have been deep policy,” he said. “It should have shown that, yes, she knows where Russia is.”
“She didn’t help herself by doing some things to shore herself up,” Beck added.
Still, Beck predicted that Palin “wants to shape the debate,” though he sees her role as outside elective politics.
“I personally think she is on a smart path for the future to be able to hold people together,” Beck said. “It’s ideals that I think she is going for.”
To: FreeManDCBeck today put down Donald Trump proving
Beck has the intelligence of a retarded monkey. His comments on Gov. Palin confirm that.

maybe he finds distancing himself from her is a plus for her.

To: RedStateRocker“... can do more good as kingmaker than as President”
In Alaska did she think she could more good as a kingmaker than as Governor?
To: ElsiejayBeck, in his recent chat with B. O., did not say that he is leaving Fox, breaking his ties with Fox. Actually, I heard quite the opposite, but possibly I dozed off for a moment.Beck in another venue claimed that Fox handlers had gotten to impossible to work with. We got a taste of that here in Cincinnati when FOX cancelled a Hannity Appearance at a Tea Party event.
Ultimately though, the issue is that Saudi money has entered FOX, and Beck doesn't toe the line as far as they are concerned.
To: tsowellfanAs dangerous as he claims Obama is (and we know he is dangerous)... if Palin wins how can Beck be taken serious when he tries to pull for her in the general election? He can't.
That is why Beck is being serious NOW even if it means stepping on the toes of the Sarah Palin Adoration Society.
Sarah Palin's poll numbers are ABSOLUTELY TOXIC for a general election.
Why would anybody that fears Obama, like I do, be crazy enough to want a candidate such as Sarah Palin running against Obama when SEVENTY TWO PERCENT (72%) of ALL voters believes that Sarah Palin would NOT be a good President?
Such insanity is handing Barack Hussein Obama reelection on a silver platter. That is why I am so against the irrational Sarah Palin Cult of Personality.
A vote for Sarah Palin in the Republican primaries is a vote to reelect Barack Hussein Obama in November of 2012.
And will he have credibility with his republican listeners?
Since when did the unquestioning worship of Sarah Palin define somebody as a Republican?
According to the February FOX NEWS Poll, FIFTY SIX PERCENT (56%) of REPUBLICAN voters believes that Sarah Palin would NOT be a good President.

To: xtinctDoesn’t mean jack. Senate will NOT pass it. If they truly had any cojones at all they would have put it in the CR.
To: xtinctIs this part of the overall appropriations bill? I don’t think so. If not, it is a purely symbolic vote. If it is not part of the overall bill, the party poobahs are not serious about defunding NPR.

To: xtinctHold on to your "yaaaays" and "cheers"....The senate has to pass it....and it won't. And even if it did, the stain will veto it.
So...NPR goes merrily on....safe, left wing biased, and economically secure with your tax money.
Voting to defund NPR has the exact same effect as voting to repeal the stain's new healthcare law.
None.

Tommy—
I love the new airlock. Just don’t go and drop your key ring in the seals again.
As you know, you go to a campaign with the qualifications you have. They're not the qualifications you might want or wish to have at a later time. [No apologies to Donald Rumsfeld.]
Meaning that even a retarded monkey could figure those two out. (Oh, and isn’t that tag line the slogan of the wing nuts?)
And not to keep picking on Diogenesis (OK, I will), does he/she/it mean: diagenesis (“In geology and oceanography, diagenesis is any chemical, physical, or biological change undergone by a sediment after its initial deposition and during and after its lithification,...”); or Diogenes, who kept searching for an honest man? Given the forum, I’m betting on the former.
Damn. They might be starting to rub their collective two brain cells together.
Well, she would have, if she could have found it. (Hint: it’s not in the “country” of Africa, nor does it separate Alaska from the contiguous 48 states.)
