Thanks for posting. My grandfather, who was born in 1890, was a Great War veteran. He told me some stories about the war late in his life -- French was his first language, so he worked as an interpreter; he also drove a truck, and told me he'd volunteer for KP, because it meant you were assigned to a back trench.
