Well, gentle people - I had planned to beg off this week and take a break, as long as there were no Breaking News developments in Freeperville.
Am I stupid, or what?
Let's jump right in.
Before we get to the paramoid ravings of Freeperdom about gangs of Obama hit squads roaming the coutryside to shoot frozen virus darts into fringe right-wing commentators, we need to address something else first - misogyny.
Right-wing nutworld has always been a stronghold of misogyny, and I wasn't particularly surprised when a right-wing nutjob (whose previous claim to fame was getting caught with non-prescribed Viagra on his way back from the Dominican republic) got all "sluts-R-us" on an uppity female who dared to speak up for contraception as a part of healthcare. Didn't surprise me a bit.
This, however, did :
Obama phones woman called 'slut' by Limbaugh
Politico ^ | 3/2/12 | JENNIFER EPSTEINPosted on Friday, March 02, 2012 1:39:13 PM by ColdOne
The young woman who was called a "slut" by Rush Limbaugh got a call Friday from President Obama who voiced support for her pro-birth control advocacy.
"He encouraged me and supported me and thanked me for speaking out about the concerns of American women," Georgetown law student Sandra Fluke said on MSNBC's "Andrea Mitchell Reports." She got the call from Obama while in a green room waiting to appear on the show.
"What was really personal for me was that he said to tell my parents that they should be proud and that meant a lot because Rush Limbaugh questioned whether or not my family would be proud of me," Fluke said. "So I just appreciated that very much."
Soon after she appeared on TV, Fluke also thanked Obama on her Twitter account. "Thank you @BARACKOBAMA for your call and words of support. It means so much to me and millions of women! #WeWillNotBeSilenced," she wrote.
To: ColdOneIf she’s still having issues getting contraception, she should try oral sex. It’s proven to make teeth whiter.

In Memoriam: Andrew Breitbart (1969-2012)

Posted on Thursday, March 01, 2012 8:00:33 AM by ImJustAnotherOkie
Andrew passed away unexpectedly from natural causes shortly after midnight this morning in Los Angeles.
We have lost a husband, a father, a son, a brother, a dear friend, a patriot and a happy warrior.
"Who's gonna sign my paychecks now???"
Andrew lived boldly, so that we more timid souls would dare to live freely and fully, and fight for the fragile liberty he showed us how to love.
Andrew recently wrote a new conclusion to his book, Righteous Indignation:
I love my job. I love fighting for what I believe in. I love having fun while doing it. I love reporting stories that the Complex refuses to report. I love fighting back, I love finding allies, and—famously—I enjoy making enemies.
Three years ago, I was mostly a behind-the-scenes guy who linked to stuff on a very popular website. I always wondered what it would be like to enter the public realm to fight for what I believe in. I’ve lost friends, perhaps dozens. But I’ve gained hundreds, thousands—who knows?—of allies. At the end of the day, I can look at myself in the mirror, and I sleep very well at night.

Michael Savage: Was Breitbart Assassinated?
World Net Daily ^ | 3-1-12
Posted on Friday, March 02, 2012 12:30:19 AM by ReformationFan
Noting that the cause of Andrew Breitbart’s unexpected death yesterday was being examined by the Los Angeles County Coroner’s office, talk-radio host Michael Savage raised the question of whether the conservative media powerhouse – who recently announced he had videos that could politically damage President Obama – was murdered.
On his top-rated show today, Savage played an audio clip of Breitbart telling an audience at the Conservative Political Action Conference in Washington last month that he had obtained videos that shed light on Obama’s ties to radicals in the early 1980s who helped propel him to the presidency.
“Maybe my overly active imagination kicked into overdrive,” Savage told his listeners of his decision to raise the question. “But you heard what Breitbart said – he has videos … we’re going to vet the president.”

At a press conference at the Limbaugh property, Palm Beach Police spokesman Fred Hess said the package appears to not be dangerous or hazardous. He said it was delivered late this afternoon and was X-rayed, as is all mail sent to the Limbaughs’ home. When Limbaugh’s staff saw what appeared to be wires in the package through the X-ray, they called police.
The package was sent by a man in Pennsylvania as a “business opportunity” for Limbaugh, Hess said. The man was not identified, but when authorities called him he apologized, Hess said.
The package contained an electronic placque commemorating the assassinations of Abraham Lincoln and John Wilkes Booth. No further details about the plaque were immediately available.

To: Uncle SlaytonThe news item fell under the radar quickly, but a suspicious package was delivered to Limbaugh's Florida home. It was explained as being a business opportunity sent by a fan. However, you have to wonder if someone did not fire a shot across the bow, to remind Limbaugh that he is not invulnerable. With his age (early 60s), his weight issues, and his past oxycondin use, an untimely demise would be considered plausible by many, if not most, people.26 posted on Saturday, March 03, 2012 7:26:48 PM by Wallace T.

Thanks again, TT. I have been meaning to go through the FR birther threads since Sheriff Joe made his statement last week. From what I can tell, most of the reasonable anti-birthers (there was a former JAG lawyer and a another lawyer from Ohio) have been banned. They made the FR mortal sin of citing facts and legal precedent.
I am waiting for the eventual nomination of Mittens, just to see the immovable object (will not vote Romney) meets the irresistible force (hatred of Obama). My guess is that JimRob will just leverage the chaos for more donations.
