I'll let Tim Minchin sum up what I think of the entire rotten institution and person:
I can't add anything to that.

One of the first blog-based books, the anthology Special Plans examines Feith's role in misleading America into war. Buy from Amazon and William, James & Co.
That is my next ringtone, BTW...

No need for me to ever read this blog again. There are more intelligent ways to make the same point
Posted by: Rick | February 12, 2013 at 06:44
@Rick: Yes. There are. However, there's something about "fuck the motherfucker" that "my word, this institutionalized covering-up for colleagues engaged in highly illegal and destructive activity is incredibly reprehensible" just doesn't communicate.

And you know what? Fuck this guy. No, there aren't "more intelligent ways to make the same point." There may be more eloquent ways, or more polite ways, but there's nothing stupid about pointing out that the jagoff in the funny hat on St. Peter's throne was a key part of the coverup of abusive priests for several decades. So if hearing the word "fuck" is more offensive to you than, you know, the fact that thousands of victims were abused AND THE HIERARCHY KNEW ABOUT IT AND COVERED IT UP FOR DECADES, then maybe this little corner of the Internet isn't for you.
Get fucked, dipshit. You won't be missed.

FFS, Jude, put a fucking ear worm warning on that thing. I played it thirty minutes ago and now it is stuck in my brain.
Totally agree with the sentiments, though.

It sounded better in the original Latin.

@Rick: Yes, because civility (which is what you mean when you say "intelligence," because the *intelligent* people are CALLING THE POPE AND THE CHURCH OUT on this shit) is MUCH more important than, oh, I don't know, a DECADES-LONG SERIES OF CHILD RAPES ENCOMPASSING THOUSANDS OF VICTIMS, AIDED AND ABETTED BY SO-CALLED MEN OF GOD WHO PROTECTED THE GUILTY, OBSTRUCTED JUSTICE, BLACKMAILED AND INTIMIDATED THE VICTIMS AND THEIR FAMILIES AND WHEN WHINED ABOUT IT WHEN THEY WERE FINALLY EXPOSED.
Good to see you have your priorities in order. Fuck you, motherfucker. We won't miss you.

Rick: What Tim Michin said. If you're more offended by the song than what the Pope & his church did, then fuck you and your high moral tone.
Posted by: delagar | February 12, 2013 at 11:33
I think that this song is quite eloquent! If you're not too offended by the "F" word to listen to the lyrics of the song, you might see that! And YES, if you're too worried about the use to the "F"-word to worry about the "F"-ers who are "F-ing little boys and the "F"-ers who are covering for them, then "F" you too!!! I am amazed, but so totally GLAD that this is finally bringing some public OUTRAGE!! How long has it been a "joke" and common knowledge that this was going on, but no-one put a stop to it? I am amazed that any Catholic family would EVER allow their son to become an altar-boy, knowing how often this occurs! Thank GOD someone is finally fed-up enough to say "ENOUGH IS ENOUGH"!!!

I'd add my own response to the complaint about the supposed lack of intelligence, but Mr. Minchin already anticipated and addressed that complaint pretty fucking effectively in the motherfucking song.
(For those of you not familiar with Tim Minchin, he can have a dark side too.)

Wish I could find the lyrics online for this....

Me too, Tony Dickens. (Actually, when I read the first line of Rick's comment, I thought the next one was going to be "Actually, no need for me to ever read ANYTHING about the Pope again, ANYWHERE - Tim Minchin said it all.")

Well, now the Vatican's been struck by lightning.
So here's my earworm going out to Benny and His All-Boy Choir. ...You whizzed on the electric fence, didn'tcha?

It's all been said to Rick quite well, but just for emphasis...
Go drown in a sewage treatment facility, Rick.
Or rather don't. They probably don't have the means to deal with a pile of shit as massive as you are.
There doesn't need to be some calm and friendly discussion as to why child molestation and supporting child molesters is wrong. If you really feel that discussion is needed you are a broken human being. The time for friendliness toward the catholic church has passed. The child fucking incidents were not misunderstandings. They were assaults on children and the Italian NAMBLA paid and continues to pay vast sums of money to keep it going.
Fuck. You.
