RE: Citadel

I'm intrigued as to how such a small population size (as estimated by the drawn neighborhoods) could support the large town. Not to mention that there are small towns of this size all over the USA that are struggling to survive.

Add in the munitions factory - have they figured out that anything made in such a small factory is gonna cost a fortune ?

I don't know why I should be amazed that the news of Hilary's blood clot didn't validate the story of her concussion in the eyes of these people -- they just doubted the story of the blood clot as well. Seriously, we now have blood clots from a fake concussion? It's just how they roll.

Re the Citadel, have you noticed that there's only one exit? That should prove interesting (unless of course there's a double-extra-secret tunnel that's only revealed to you when you sign on. Cross your heart and hope to die).

As far as pointing out that the Citadel can be wiped out by a government-appointed air strike: the creators appear to see it instead as a refuge in a post-apocalyptic future where the government no longer exists and your zombie neighbours are coming for your stuff.

"and your zombie neighbours are coming for your stuff"

You misspelled "the brown people".

Setting up a libertarian commune (minus all the socialism, of course) with a fetish for guns and self-defense. I've love to see this come to fruition, if only so I could OD on schadenfreude.

Thanks once again for wading into the fever swamp that is Free Republic. I don't comment every week, but this post is one of the highlights of my Monday.

Somewhat surprised that the freepers aren't interested in moving to the Citadel.

That reminds me - how's the latest Freepathon going?
I just went to check and got:
500 Internal Server Error
But before that they seemed to have stalled at about 75%.

Hey, sombody actually does miss Bush.
[Lengthy discussion of booing omitted.]
Apparently booing Presidents is expected/required, but booing failed Vice Presidential candidates is beyond the pale.
Well, he’s [Ryan] a conservative and one of the few who has actually challenged The Won, risking his job and position in doing so. [January 21, 2013 4:08:10 PM by livius]
Hmmm... Seems to me that Ryan simultaneously ran for congress (and won). It's not clear what he risked.

Sorry, if you're seeing this message our Free Republic server is still down. We're working to bring it back online. Nothing sinister and no hack attack. Just a hardware crash. Definitely will have to replace our database server.

We're in the process of purchasing a new db server and hope to install it later tonight today.

Very sorry about the downtime.

All righty, then!
