These critics portrayed the Boehner plan as a sellout because of a campaign that captured the imagination of some conservatives this summer: Republicans must threaten to crash their Zeros into the aircraft carrier of ObamaCare. Their demand is that the House pair the "must pass" CR or the debt limit with defunding the health-care bill. Kamikaze missions rarely turn out well, least of all for the pilots.
Adding to the surreality of the whole thing is that I'm linking to the Daily Kos as a way around the Murdochian paywall. If the current congressional Gopers are too extreme for the WSJ, they're like kids playing in traffic with razor blades. And when you play in traffic, you get run over. Ideological purity has its price, and they're giving the Dems a shot at re-taking the House if they don't stop running with scissors.
Here's hoping that they keep up the kamizake mission. Banzai.
